DCS-935L white and black screen

I bought a DCS-935L about two weeks ago.  I installed it and updated the firmware to 1.06, which is the latest.  However, during the day the screen will go all white.  This happens at least once a day.  It seems to happen when its adusting the brightness and/or night vision settings.  I have noticed at night it will go all black some times.  To fix it, I have to reboot or unplug it.  After that its fine for a while.

I thought I had a defective unit, so I had it exchanged.  The new device, with firmware 1.06 is doing the same thing.

Any ideas what I can do to fix this from happening?  I am recording the camera on a NVR device, and if it goes all white or black its useless.

Thank you.

Isn't that a Dlink device? Here it is Linksys support.

LCAD03VLNOD image path / video record / SD card backup???

Hi Guys

I have problems with my  LCAD03VLNOD and need some help/advices on the following:

1. if you click on RECORD, the recording will not go over an hour! Do you know on how to record at all time at highest resolution with that camera to an FTP server like I do with all other brand?

I am trying to set it up on different NAS but Linksys does not provide you with the image path on where to pick the video at highest resolution. Why that? (e.g; /img/video.asf ...)

2. looks like that you cannot record video permanently! UI interface only offer option to do it based on event (either Motion, Digital or Audio input or Schedule). In that case the only option to record at all time (continuously) is SCHEDULE but if you choose it, you can only record to the SD not to FTP???

3.If you pick MOTIONyou cannot choose highest resolution since Motion only work with H264 (?????). Save stream to FTP does not work! Only snapshot will work, but in low res tdue to Motion detection limitation...

4. If you record to thje SD, there is no way to download your thousands of snapshots to your computer, you have to do it image per image!!! How stupid is that?

Any help will be highly appreciated since helpdesk does not know anything but basics described in user manual...

Thanks

Phil

This Camera is totally USELESS! Waste of money. Software is too buggy and no update to correct anything. Never saw that with other brand. You should at least be able to stream at all time to FTP at highres but even that is not working.

Linksys may still be coming up with a fix.

These are very interesting observations. I 'll be tracking this post to see if there are work arounds on any if not all of them.

This is interesting. Could be with firmware?

Thx for the reply but Stream 2 cannot be checked for any reason. Only 1 and 3 can with the last firmware.

Are you logged into the camera with an Admin account? Only the admin account is allowed to make changes on the camera.

Also, make sure to use IE for the browser.

Think about asking these questions on their Twitter account, one by one, they seem to be more worried about what is written there than here.

Good idea! Because their helpdesk is totally useless but very polite!   Smiley Happy

You can activate Stream 2 if you reduce the quality of Stream 1 a bit, even with the new firmware. Just checked.

Unfortunately no luck!

I am going back to other brand like Axis. They know on how to do camera and most importantly on how tho write software and ensure follow up!

Bye linksys
